Chris Burke

Chris is an educator in a Rhode Island high school who knows that knowledge is the best form of prevention. Chris teamed with Attorney General Lynch in 2006 to have legislation passed that states all middle and high schools in Rhode Island must implement a curriculum on teen dating violence. He helped found The Love Is Not Abuse coalition and continues to fight for education in all schools nationwide.

Ann Burke
Co-Founder of The Love Is Not Abuse coalition, Rhode Island

Ann is also an educator in Rhode Island. Ann has been with The Love Is Not Abuse coalition every step of the way and plays an integral role in this grassroots effort. Ann understands the pain of parents who have lost loved ones to dating abuse. She continues to work with parents across the country who have suffered, and offers hope that through education, teens will have the knowledge and power to sustain healthy relationships.

Dr. Logan Levkoff
New York, New York

Dr. Logan Levkoff, PhD, Author, and Human Sexuality Expert: Logan Levkoff is an AASECT certified sex educator and has been working with students of all ages for over a decade. She has designed and implemented sexuality education programs in many independent schools and community organizations and frequently appears on television shows including The Today Show, Good Morning America, and Oprah. Logan is the author of Third Base Ain't What it Used to Be: What Your Kids are Learning About Sex Today and How to Teach Them to Become Sexually Healthy Adults.

Cheri Rivard-Lentz
East Hampton, Connecticut

Cheri is the mother of two daughters, ages 11 and 8, and two sons, ages 2 and 5.  She wants all of her children to learn about teen dating abuse before they're in high school.  Recently Cheri testified at a press conference and public hearing in Connecticut in support of legislation which would require Connecticut schools to teach teens about dating violence.  Cheri is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Rachel Johnson
Jackson, Michigan

Rachel works for the Michigan Department of Corrections.  She works with many women who are victims of domestic violence and she wants the chance to help prevent domestic violence, rather than to respond to it after it has spiraled out of control.  Rachel continues to use her networks to encourage people to join The Love Is Not Abuse coalition and fight teen dating abuse.

Kim Davidson
New York, NY

Kim is the mother of Kari Ann Gorman, who tragically lost her life to an abusive boyfriend on July 26, 2008. Kari was only 18 years old. Kim founded Kari's Candle of Hope, a foundation dedicated to her daughter and continues to speak out against teen dating abuse and violence. She is currently working with New York State Senator George Maziarz and Assemblywoman Francine Delmonte to advocate for a recently introduced bill, the Kari Anne Gorman Act, which implements teen dating abuse education curriculum throughout the state.

Denise Restauri
New York, NY

Denise Restauri is the country's foremost tween girl expert. As Founder & CEO of AK Tweens and AllyKatzz.com, she is able to translate tween thoughts and opinions into valuable feedback and guidance for companies as they develop new products and services, marketing and advertising campaigns, and brands geared for tween and young teen girls. This insight has made Restauri a sought after and frequent commentator on the subject of tween girls on national television, newspapers, magazines and radio programs including CBS Early Show, The Today Show, BBC America, ABC, NPR, E!Online, USA Today, People Magazine, More Magazine and many others. She currently serves as the tween girl expert on True/Slant.com. She is also launching the first ever national Tween Girl Summit to be held in Washington, DC in October 2009.

Dr. Elizabeth Miller
Sacramento, CA

As an assistant professor in pediatrics, Dr. Miller conducts research on adolescent health and trauma, including dating violence and health risks among adolescents, health consequences of trafficking and gender based violence, and reducing health disparities through community engaged participatory research.  Her current research focuses on violence prevention and intervention among adolescents and health services delivery, with a focus on marginalized populations including pregnant/parenting teens, gang-involved youth, youth in foster care, and homeless/vulnerable youth.

Dari Dyrness-Olsen, MA, LPC
Chester, New Jersey

Dari is nationally known as America's Safe Dating Coach. She owns the leading counseling center in New Jersey called Express Yourself Today LLC, specializing in date rape and dating abuse.
